I'm having a housecleaning service come over tomorrow to give me an estimate for a once-monthly visit, and to clean for the first time. Why am I cleaning the house?

It's the classic pre-clean, Consuela. I think everyone does it. My apartment is still covered in paper, but at least there are a couple of clean surfaces and no dishes in the sink. Close enough.
