Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Go Sox!!

Do all the Chicagoistas get tomorrow off?

Unfortunately, no. I've got work and school. Blech.

::scampers off to write paper that's due tomorrow::

Shit's all sorts of different now.

THANK YOU, Aimee -- I knew I was wrong, but couldn't get it together.

Hee! White Christmas is one of my favorite films. Yeah, Rosemary Clooney! One of the things that clicked KristinT and I together so quickly: She was over on one of her visits before she moved and for some reason, I started singng "Sisters". Well, she jumped in, sang the other beautifully and the rest, is herstory.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Missed the game, but went and saw The Squid and the Whale this evening. If it comes anywhere near you, and you are a fan of beautifully-observed, heartbreaking but hilarious, intimate filmmaking, GO. Really really impressive, and those of you who were kids or teenagers in 1986 will have a lot of fun moments of recognition. Funny LA thing--on the way out, there was some sort of lame premiere and a little red carpet. Who was just stepping off of it and in front of us as we walked by on our way to get some dinner but a true D-List celeb, Richard from Beauty and the Geek.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kat, Lorelei was sympathetic, because this was easily the best written GG of the season.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Grr. One of my travel dates was sold out and in the time I spent trying to figure out which one the fares went up. Amtrak's website sucks.

Art Crawl!!!

It was a GG in which finally something seemed to happen.

Well, getting Rory and Lorelei in the same room together helps out alot, doesn't it?

Thanks to all on the black bean soup recipes earlier. I did end up making some tonight:

Black beans (puree half of them)
chicken broth
Onion
corn
salsa

Then, I garnished with sour cream. It was yummy and exactly what I wanted.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I was trying to ignore it, but thanks for rubbing my face in my lack, nice lady.
