I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Hah. That is one of the first sites I found. There is a group called Acappella with two Ps, but it's not them.

Eeep. Too many links. I'll drop a note to the webmaster. Looks like he is a Russian Physicist. Of course, that doesn't mean he knows where it originated either. His site added several lovely variations to my collection.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

My favorite totally dated 60s song is Someone Left a Cake Out in the Rain

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Do you mean MacArthur Park?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

MONTREAL (CP) - A disappointed Warren Hill says he's going to try again to sell his fabled acetate of the Velvet Underground's famous first recording, despite being thwarted by a prankster EBay bidder.

Hill, a soft-spoken 30-year-old who started his own tiny vintage record store six months ago, sounded downcast about the results of the Internet auction that concluded Friday with the highest of 253 bids clicking in at C$178,431.51.

The bid was too good to be true.

"It seems like the highest bidder was faked," Hill said in a telephone interview Monday.

But asked if he would try and sell it again, Hill replied: "Yep."

Bummer.

I don't understand that story. There were at least a dozen different bidders who bid over US$150K. If the top bidder backs out, eBay lets you make a "second chance offer" to the second place bidder and down the line. In all the articles I've seen since the auction ended, there's been no mention of this.

I put 8 versions of "Carol of the Bells" on Buffistarawk because of my deep love

OK, I haven't looked at what you posted, but I have the following versions if anyone wants: George Winston, Nox Arcana (gothy!) The Nylons, Steve Morse and Manuel Barrueco.

And, of course, "Carol of the Great Old Ones" by the Arkham Chorale.

Oh goody! I do enjoy the variations. Thanks Raq.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The Nylons version is probably a capella.

The Nylons version is probably a capella.

Indeed it is. Except they don't sing the words to the song, just "La la la lah"
