I stumbled across the magazine Paste last week. Anyone familiar with it?
Oh, Brenda, sorry I didn't see this earlier. Paste is a must-buy magazine for me. I read a fair number of music mags, and Paste is still my favorite. It's interesting, current, and accurate, and suits my musical taste almost perfectly. The last one might not have bearing on you. *g* But I would buy a subscription if I could afford it and had a permanent address.
Glad to hear you like the new interface, Tina. I was holding out until I heard some positive feedback.
We've been sharing the iTunes 7 love in Buffistatech. Gapless playback has garnered the most rejoicing. I haven't used the new interface much yet, but I love the screen that comes up when you attach an iPod....
I should probably read that thread.
Went a little hog-wild on emusic downloads last night. After getting my usual monthly 90 tracks, I sprang for a bonus set of tracks, too. Here's what I got:
- Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra - Adams: Shaker Loops/Wound Dresser/Short Ride in a Fast Machine
- Butthole Surfers - Hairway to Steven (I had this already, but it's on an ancient cassette that I'm not going to look for)
- cLOUDDEAD - cLOUDDEAD
- Danger Doom - The Mouse & The Mask (just a couple of tracks to replace some that got corrupted)
- Devendra Banhart - Rejoicing In The Hands
- Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
- Funkadelic - "Maggot Brain (alt mix)"
- Isis - Panopticon
- Joanna Newsom - The Milk-Eyed Mender
- June Carter Cash - Ring of Fire: The Best of
- P.J. Harvey - Dry (got no idea what happened to my copy of this)
- Six Organs of Admittance - Sun Awakens
- They Might Be Giants - No! ('cause I figured we need more kids' music)
Speaking of eMusic downloads. I totally forgot about the new Yo La Tengo disc out yesterday.
Not only is the title freaking brilliant (I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass) but it is getting super super good reviews.
Soon to be in my ears...
Also downloading the new Richard Buckner that is out today.
Oh yes, I've heard many good things about the new Yo La Tengo.
y'all may be praising iTunes7, but it has fucked up data on some of my songs. a song by Loy Reed, attributed to Britney Spears!?!? (there is not Britney inmy iTunes), another by R.E.M attributed to Madonna. Those were both on soundtracks, but my guess I will find others as I go through things.
29 songs are just gone. no idea which ones.

This is unfortunate as I just downloaded it this morning and didn't even think to check how many songs I started with! Which was stupid, I admit, but, technophobe that I am, I didn't realize it was a whole thing and just saw update and clicked ok. Given that my library is 14GB and I've already spent way too much time on it, I think I'm just going to hope all's well.
Does anyone get MTV2? If so, could you record a show for me on Sept. 19th? It's a special all-goth show hosted by Peter Murphy and Gerard Way. (Yes, that sound you heard was my head exploding. Peter Murphy and Gerard Way!! Eeeee!)
Um, yeah. Anyone? Pretty please?
