Mick wasn't scared. He had Prince open for the Stones. Still a great line.
Then Keith got pissy when he tried to upstage them. I remember an interview (circa 1999 - the album - era) when Keith went on an anti-Prince rant and how you "don't try to upstage the Stones".
Never mind Hec; I'd posted the song in my LJ earlier, and DX knew the answer.
YAY DX.
Phew, glad DXM sorted that out. "Hey Sailor" was the song used at the beginning of the Harmony episode on Angel, so it should sound familiar to Buffistas.
It's a cover, incidentally, of an older R&B song.
Well now I'm going to have to go look for other versions, aren't I?
Poor me.
The original was “Hey Sah-Lo-Ney” by Mickey Lee Lane from 1965.
Am I misremembering, or was Tep a Michael Franti / Spearhead fan?
Big article on Franti in today's Chron
Is she? Cool. I am. Loves me some Franti/Spearhead
Dangermouse and Banksy have released their own version of the Paris Hilton CD: [link]
According to a press release, Waxploitation, the management company for Danger Mouse, has confirmed that Dangermouse was involved. The only comment they have so far offered on their remix is "Its hard to improve on perfection, but we had to try."
Supposedly, bids are starting at $46 on eBay, but I haven't checked myself yet. I think I'll wait for the mp3s to start circulating.

ION, Slim Harpo is sooooo cool. God, I love his (a) guitar sound; (b) songs; (c) vocals; (d) harp. No wonder the Stones copied him so much.
I also scored used copies of Born Bad, volumes 2 and 6, which are currently selling for about $50 on the ebay/Amazon used seller market.
I have all the originals on vinyl, but I've been trying to get them on CD.
