The link above mentioned he was trying to hit places he hasn't been since the 70's.
Which probably means no Seattle, I'm guessing.
He is without a doubt worth mortgaging the house to see in concert.
The only time in my life I have gone to a scalper ticket agency to buy tickets was for one of his shows. It was worth every penny.
In memory of the Music II thread: A much deserved fugging of Chaka Khan.
Also, I checked ticketmaster today and Ohio and Atlanta Waits shows are going in the 65-72 dollar range. No word on Chicago, but those prices are lower than I expected.

That's not too far off from what I paid in Boston for the MULE VARIATIONS tour

years ago, so scarf those puppies up if you can!!!
Seriously - if I wasn't evented out at this point from multiple weddings, I'd try and get Chicago tickets and visit that city for the first time just to see Waits again.
Is there a new album due/out, or is this just delayed REAL GONE and/or playing the tunes for the masses?

The only thing I know of that's forthcoming is
Orphans
which is a big set of songs which didn't belong on other albums. I had the impression it might be box set sized. But like Neil Young and Prince, Tom's got a huge backlog of unreleased stuff.

This is not a bad thing, and he might be going for a "beat the bootleggers" move.

Hell no!

He had to buy the
Alice
tapes off eBay. They were stolen out of his car.
I have recently discovered that I can't scan a page of text with the word 'South' on it without thinking, for a moment, that it reads 'Sonic Youth'. How the name of a band I don't particularly care for has come to replace a much more heavily used word is beyond me.
Get out of my cooler, Sonic Youth!
Okay, it took me way too long to realize that "South" is actually a word I am familiar with and not some strange word that rhymes with "truth."
I think that you are confusing south and "sooth" - one kind of rhymes with truth and the other kind of means it.
