I tend to agree. I looked at Lucky Star and Vogue. It may be the case that the dancer was heavily influenced by Lucky Star.

Duran Duran's The Chauffeur, [link] a surprisingly sophisticated video inspired by Helmut Newton.
I'm familiar with that video because my ex-GF was a Duran Duran fan and was very excited to see that video when I gave her a collection.
In other video news, I got a set of Kate Bush early videos that's OOP, Marc - a VHS copy of Marc Bolan's last TV show. (I think it's coming out on DVD soon.)
And for Mr. Boucher, I got a live Lou Reed DVD with Quine and Fernando Saunders doing material from the Blue Mask/Legendary Hearts era.
I'm way too intoxicated to post, yet here I am. Hooray, Seattle!
Plei, Jilli, any Seattle-istas interested in meeting: send me an email at haydenchilds at gmail dot com. I'm going to Portland tomorrow, but will be back on Saturday through Tuesday.
Gurgle.
That video for The Chauffeur was inadvertantly part of the "kids' entertainment" at my parents' big Christmas party one year. Oops.

Is there a video of her cavorting about in a lion outfit? Or was that just when she was on SNL?
Neko Case fans: What are your favorite songs of hers?
From The Virginian: "Lonely Old Lies", "Duchess", and "Somebody Led Me Away";
From Furnace Room Lullaby: "Set Out Running", "No Need to Cry", "Twist the Knife", "Thrice All American", and "Furnace Room Lullaby";
From Canadian Amp: pretty much everything, but especially "Knock Loud", "Make Your Bed", and "In California";
From Blacklisted: "Lady Pilot", "Look For Me (I'll Be Around)", "I Wish I Was the Moon", and "Runnin' Out of Fools";
and I actually haven't listened enough to the last two (The Tigers Have Spoken and Fox Confessor Brings the Flood) to have favorites yet. Oh, but I really love her cover of "Rated X". Also, on the Nashville tribute album that came out a few years ago, she does a great version of "Rolling Stone", and then I've also got her covering "Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis", which is fabulous.
I love Neko Case, especially Furnace Room Lullaby. Lately I have been listening to the song "South Tacoma Way" about four or five times a day. It's just gorgeous and heartbreaking.
Some of my favorite lyrics in the world are the title song from Fox Confessor Brings the Flood and "I Wish I Was the Moon" from Blacklisted.
My favorite Neko songs with the New Pornographers are maybe "Letter from an Occupant" and "These are the Fables."

I absolutely hated The Tigers Have Spoken. It's one of the poorest live albums I have ever heard. Which, I admit, may have something to do with the fact that I will put hot pokers in my eyes before I will submit myself to seeing Neko Case live again but...
Fox Confessor on the other hand is wonderful.
"South Tacoma Way"
Oh yeah! I love that one too. Actually, I may have been thinking of that one when I put down "Thrice All American" above (though they're both great...).

Wow, what's the story here?
