'War Stories'

Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Congratulations Hec and JZ!!!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Holy moly! Congratulations, Hec and JZ!!!

I must point out that if the baby is indeed born on October 24th, she will share a birthday with both myself and Rebecca Lizard--clearly an auspicious day!

Here's a string of words you probably haven't ever seen placed together before: a dozen Japanese thereminists performing on instruments encased in Russian dolls (7MB wmv file): [link]

Aw, man. Reading this thread is like getting whiplash these days.

Congrats, Hec & JZ! That's wonderful news! The world needs more supercool kids.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Better suck up to Corwood. The headline on the SF Chronicle front page says "Hayden Chosen for CIA".

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

Excellent news. Congrats, JZ & DS!

David, Jaime Hernandez is doing a Maggie series in the NY Times Sunday Magazine. I just sent parts 2 & 3 to Buffistarawk. I was out of town for part 1 but will try to track it down. The scanner at work isn't very big so the margins are cut off, but very little of the text/pics got chopped.

The magazine also had a profile of Rip Torn which I enjoyed & thought David, Hayden, & some others might like, so it too can be found at the 'rawk. Okay, I promise never to say that again.

Finally back from Boston, & just coming up for air. Speaking of Buffistarawk, I'll try to finish my liner notes this week before work spins out of control again... which it's threatening to do. This is the case I worked on. Needless to say my contributions to the effort were the decisive factor in our crushing victory. Sorry I missed the Bostonistas, but we were working brutal hours.
