I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey, Michael Stipe and Iggy Pop playing with the New York Dolls! Fun!

Bo Diddley too! Let's throw all of David's favorite music into the meat grinder and make spicy sausage.

"Playing music is the best thing in the world," Johansen said in a statement. "It makes show business almost bearable."

Jenny Toomey

I remember her! Tsunami. Is she still doing the lounge singer type act?

My fave Coen bro.s movie is Raising Arizona. "Son, you've got a panty on your head."

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Sometimes I think I'd like to see the Coen Bros remake other people's movies, to do the cool shot! thing without messing up the story. Like "It's a Wonderful Life." That would be kickass.

I like Miller's Crossing the best, but I haven't seen Barton Fink. Looks like now I don't have to! Woot!

Put that "Woot!" back in your mouth. You still have to see Barton Fink. You'll see it and you'll love it. Not like it. Love it. Why? Because of all the many brilliant words it has. Much better words than other movies. It's like 9,000 flavors of rare Hollywood and Broadway argot.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Who mentioned Jenny Toomey? She still does the occasional croon-y musical project, but she's primarily been involved with the Future of Music Coalition.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Just back from seeing Rhett Miller. Good times. I wasn't in love with the new band's version of all the Old 97's stuff, but his solo stuff rawked. The new album songs were not all so smooth, but I think this may have been the first if not just an early show.

Opening act was Garrison Starr who I had never heard of. Loved her voice and she was cute as a button between songs.

Now to try to get to sleep with the buzzing ear thing. hate that.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I mentioned Jenny Toomey a little while back in connection with Misra Records.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey! We're going to Vegas this weekend.

What should we do there?

What should we do there?

I dunno, but whatever you do there stays there.

Ride the coaster at New York, New York! Watch the fountain and walk through the indoor gardens at the Bellagio! Eat dinner at one of the fab restaurants at Mandalay Bay (or just walk through as it's really cool)! Go on the Star Trek ride at the Hilton and then have a drink at Quarks!
