The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Sweet Zombie Jesus! these are, as near as I can tell, bike shorts that aren't hemmed. Oh, excuse me, no hem means "With the no-leg-band design, there will be no tell-tale leg bulges. "

What was the eye-rolling to infinity thing, again? I need to use it.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

It looks like there's some shaping done in the torso, though.

It didn't look like it to me. Huh. Now I'm going to have to go to Nordstrom and take a look at one. And then roll my eyes a lot, again.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

While we are getting shopping opinions... I need a new vacuum. There was a tragic accident. I think I am swayed towards a bagless model. Anyone like or loathe theirs?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The American things I have serious trouble getting are fizzy drinks.

Come to San Francisco and I'll take you to Yum. They have 300 different fizzy drinks from all around the world. Emmett and I just went there over the weekend and loaded up on Bennett's Lemon Cola and Cheerwine and Hanks Cream Soda and Virgil's Root Beer and a ginger ale that promises to scald my mouth with its gingeriness.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I have some sort of thing called a jaguar bagless. I dig it fine, except you can see the thing filling up and it makes me look at Ruby and say, "Will you STOP SHEDDING?"

Also, cleaning it is a bit messy. the filter is just of the yuck.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Crime in Memphis (2002):

  • 151 murders (22.8 per 100,000)
  • 517 rapes (78.0 per 100,000)
  • 4,240 robberies (640.1 per 100,000)
  • 5,538 assaults (836.0 per 100,000)
  • 16,340 burglaries (2466.6 per 100,000)
  • 29,841 larceny counts (4504.7 per 100,000)
  • 9,219 auto thefts (1391.7 per 100,000)
  • City-data.com crime index = 894.1 (higher means more crime, US average = 330.6)

In my zip code, the ethnic breakdown is:

White population: 1130
Black population: 7530
American Indian population: 14
Asian population: 190
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander population: 1
Some other race population: 20
Two or more races population: 91

Median household income (1999): $10974 (not surprising, as I live in the Hood)

It's easy for me to convince myself that no one I know would kill me.

I'm sure some have had the urge, but as long as I stay on the good sides of ita and my buddy Mark I'm reasonably confident of having better than even odds if it comes to that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cass, I will try and remember when I get home to check mine -- I have a bagless, and it sucks in the good way, quite a bit. It made me vacuum more, because of the palpable difference -- not just in the carpet's looks, but the amount of dust in the air.

Change the name, same old tune... I could make a new cat every time I vacuumed but who needs another puppycat?

Excellent.
