Homeland Security's been gassing us again:
Scientists released harmless tracer gases in midtown Monday as part of a study designed to better understand how airborne contaminants would flow through the city's streets.
"We want to be prepared if something nasty gets into the air," said Paul Kalb, a senior research engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton.
In four locations, researchers released the colorless, odorless gases using syringe pumps, which slowly dispense several milliliters of the tracer in liquid form at regular intervals. When the tracer leaves the pump, it evaporates almost immediately.
West 94th is right by an express stop on the 2/3 so its a quick 10 minutes to the theatre district -- but I can't get the link to load and I can't place the building in my head as far as telling you what it's like, etc. (its my neighborhood)
