If I only had a brain...

SF obit: 7-Foot-Plus Actor Matthew McGrory Dies. I'm just as glad I didn't see their obit for Long John Holmes.

Can it have puff pastry on top?

Of course. Are there any other kind?

We had the yummiest pies at this place in Te Anau. Now I'd like one served to me right here.

The status is NOT quo.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My mother used to make a marvellous veal pie. Then she stopped cooking veal.

My pie angle is to make stew, dump it in ovenworthy crockery, layer on the puff pastry, bake, eat all the puff pastry with a bit of the stew, and repeat from the layer step until all the stew is gone.

Kristin, how fun for you! Actually on the 24th I'm invited to go to a training for our Buy Back days. It's not at school and they'll provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, and a free book. And you know, two days extra pay.

So why not, I say?

What else have you been up to?

ita, the pies we had were puff pastry bottoms and tops so you could hold them and eat them.

WANT ONE NOW DAMMIT. Maybe I'll go to the British food shop that's down the road. Grr...

The status is NOT quo.

Just basically attempting to get settled in. I've had a few little lowkey social things going on, but mostly I've been trying to figure out when I got enough clothes to outfit a small country and where the hell I'm going to put them all.

You? Are you on break now or working?

I'm off until the 26th or 24th depending on what I want to do.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh man, the pie talk is making me hungry. If my butcher didn't close at 6, I'd be of to buy ingredients for Beef & Guinness Pie.

(As it is, I'm sitting here feeling very pissed off at my hormones for allowing themselves to be overwhelmed by the combination of PMS and prescription painkillers. I'm torn between going on a murderous rampage, crying my eyes out, and going to sleep, and I don't really want to do any of those things. It's just the mood I'm in.)
