You do well to flee, townspeople! I will pillage your lands and dwellings! I will burn your crops and make merry sport with your more attractive daughters! Ha ha ha! Mark my words! Ooh! Ale! I smell delicious ale!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Nora, your best deal on Priceline for a weekend will likely be way downtown in the financial district, even though they'll call it "downtown/Soho" BUT it's really not that hard to get around Manhattan. I saw $200/night for an unnamed 4 star (out of 5) just the other day, when randomly browsing.

50th and 10th is on a rapidly gentrifying strip of a slightly gritty area. You can get a $15 cocktail nearby, but might have walk by a crackhead or two to get there.

brillig

might have walk by a crackhead or two to get there.

Heck, I walk by a crackhead on my way to the grocery store--if my neighbor's awake and out on the sidewalk smoking at that hour, anyway.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yay, Allyson. Go you!

oh god, ita, I forgot to mention that Bev&Mo has Ting!

Because books.

You can get a $15 cocktail nearby, but might have walk by a crackhead or two to get there.

That's part of the charm!

Seriously, the only reason I mentioned it is because a very good friend lives across the street, so I knew it was there and pretty cheap. The C/E is only two blocks away, and you can usually get a cab on Tenth.

I'm spoiled because I never have to get a hotel room, with her living there.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I forgot to mention that Bev&Mo has Ting!

Dude. And there's one in Simi! I hope they have it here.

RE:Ting. They had it in Pasadena yesterday. I saw it in the soda aisle after I had already left store and was walking past their windows. I almost went back to get some.

I think I might have a beef patty tonight. I blame Jesse and you.

Congratulations, Allyson! That's fantastic, and I can't wait to read the book!
