Is it working, sara?

Um, no. The data doesn't even exist yet and it will be ones and zeros! Similar to what we already have! But go enthusiasm, I guess.

Please don't go to Cairo, shrift.

Yeah, move to California as we've been instructing for the last two years.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

question for NYistas- anyone know of a decent hotel in midtown-ish area (location is flexible) for say $200-ish a night?

Off to search Priceline and shit.

the situation is this: a friend is trying to get her friends together and the only hotel she's sussed out is like $350-400 a room, which I just can't do. She said, if I were to go on my own looking for stuff, that midtown is probably OK, they're gonna be all over the place, but if I can't find something reasonable anywhere I should go for it.

Shameful disclosure: I do not know NYC at ALL, geographically speaking. Nor in the biblical sense. I need much help.

ETA: this is for the weekend of Sept 9-10.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Way to go, Allyson!!!!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

40th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues, the Bedford is in the heart of midtown Manhattan, in the quiet Murray Hill area

Just for the sake of full disclosure, Murray Hill is not in "the heart of midtown." (40th/Park is a good location though -- very close to Grand Central, so you can get on any subway you need.)

Citysearch also has a Budget Lodgings page that might be worth checking out (just make sure to check the addresses, as some of theirs are in NJ.)

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Allyson! Congratulations.

Because books.

Nora, this one isn't bad either -- it's on Tenth Avenue and 50th Street, and the neighborhood is fine.
