Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Coding and Sleeping

I lived. And still oddly get treated like a little kid a lot. I've no idea why.

It sounds like you did well. Why don't you have a treat and some juice?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I have a giant picture of Saturn. With a cool effect caused by the rings casting a shadow over the planet's surface.

If I only had a brain...

Hands up anyone who has a picture of themselves alone as their work wallpaper or screensaver. And by alone, I mean without people, pets, places -- anything with you might otherwise have a picture of without you.

Wallpaper? What is this wallpaper of which you speak?

::looks at basic gray::

Also, a gold star.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Naptime for Allyson!

Yeah, I walked past a co-worker's desk and her screen flashed up a studio portrait of herself.

Briefly I considered putting up a picture of the Lost party security team, because they're making me laugh so hard, but a) I'd be looking at myself, and b) I don't have the energy to field the questions. So it stays at Wonder Woman covers.

Heather -- you're really looking at pictures of just you? Is it, at least, a really nice picture? Though, four filters makes me think of this.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Hands up anyone who has a picture of themselves alone as their work wallpaper or screensaver.

Let's see...one of scruffy Wes holding a cross bow and one of Serenity as she is all lit up. None of me, nope.

If I only had a brain...

Pictures of you at your wedding don't count, because you can claim they're pictures of your husband.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Nope. Rolling hills of wildflowers, courtesy of a link from lori. Past wallpaper has included the cover of Gaiman's Coraline, Fashion Log for Girls, the Skateboarding Bulldog in his sunflower outfit, and abstract but vaguely beatnik-retro squiggles.
