Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

The status is NOT quo.

"Wasn't expecting that" works great for me too.

I just want to clarify that I didn't mean to say that Deb was being offensive or the phrase "hijacked elections" is any more offensive than "Bush is a moron" or "Kerry is a traitor". Personally, I thought the suggestion was funny. I'm just remembering from not too long ago that there are more than two buffistas who actually, consciously and deliberately voted for the current administration, and putting a statement of opinion in a thread title that inherently criticizes that choice may be the wrong way to go.

I'm good with "wasn't expecting that" too.

Up with the sun

I don't have any major objection to "wasn't expecting that," but is it a reference or something? Because it seems a little bland to me.

I liked "Auld Fang Syne."

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Actually, Wolfram, it referred to the investigation into massive voter fraud in four states, including Oklahoma, where the machines started counting backward after they hit a certain point. Either side can hijack an election. On my mind because I've been involved in the correspondence back and forth with the GAO.

But really, not worth the aggro of arguing over it.

edit: Frank, Tom and I have started househunting in Salem!

Woohoo! Yes, get in before the prices here get beyond the reach of sanity. I'm about to start apartment hunting, and part of me thinks I'll end up staying out here just to keep prices down a little.

2004: Well, I wasn't expecting that.

Seems to have the largest support, so far, with "Oy, Humuag" only a little behind.

Excellent, those are my two favorites. It wasn't a bad year for me at all [knocks wood] what with the getting married, honeymoon in New Orleans, book being published, being on the radio and going to Chicago to name just the obvious highlights.
